A good example of texture, but it appears a little less sharp than it should be and overall a little flatter than necessary. The DOF shift in the upper right corner is a distraction from the more interesting parts of the image. A good, solid effort demonstrataing texture.

Simpley elegant - a terrific example of natural world texture. Perfect lighting brings out the natural grains and unfinished beauty of the wood. A very worthy entry into the challenge and a solid contender for a ribbon.

The image suffers from a lack of clear imagery. As an abstract, it should be softer in focus and slightly distorted - as a image of texture, it does meet the challenge, but the lack of detail hurts it's impact. It's a "'tweener" image and could very well be a winner in a different challenge.

Bare Hand

The light shadow compliments the hand shape - very creative. Good eye on the texture of the hand. A slight red scale halo effect probably the result of reflection off the background used. A minor issue with the DOF on the top part of the hand, but the author may have intended it to be that way. A good solid effort and meets the specification of the challenge.
