An artistic success with the various angles and interesting features, but from a technical standpoint, it falls short of being a contender. A little better treatment would include some more saturation and perhaps a longer focal length to bring the entire subject into more focus.

A combination of some technical and artistic success, the image does not attract any visual interest being overly bland and lacking impact. The image does meet the challenge subject though and with a little better composition and framing, would have placed nicely in the top twenty five.

An artistic success, the over exposed whites detract from the impact that the image should have had. This technical flaw could have been corrected with a slight change in exposure time. A good entry into the challenge.

Wings of a butterfly

A technical success, the artistic issues have a significant impact. The petals of the flowers obscure the area that is important to the overall flow of the image and they interrupt the more interesting features of the butterfly. A good entry into the challenge which falls just short of being a top finisher.

A technical success from the slightly out of focus background which compliments the crips and detailed foreground and subject. A little shy on having any significant artistic impact. Excellant control of the white areas which give the appearance of bleaching, but not losing any details. A solid entry into the challenge.

Nicely captured and a sense of whimsy in the title give this impact and in many ways is pleasing to the eye. A technical success given how the subject was treated, but from an artistic standpoint, falls a little short of being interesting.
