The Landingby kevip6Comment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring is the major issue. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

Hey you!!!!!!by JudiComment: While nicely detailed, the blank background doesn't quite work as well as it should have give the dark nature of the subject. Technically competant, it fails to offer the viewer anything to examine closer and elicit some interest. A little added object or something similar to give the viewer some context would have been a plus. Not a complete or artistic success, it is a competant image and a good entry into the challenge. |

Eagerness in Motionby AmmieComment: An amazing viewpoint and something that one doesn't often see - rich and detailed facial expressions. While the image could use a little better crop, the detailed background compliments the intensity and meaningful purpose. An amazing image perfectly captured. It is a complete technical and artistic success. Should be a ribbon contender. Well done. |

Focusby WalkingFishComment: An amazing viewpoint and something that one doesn't often see with black dogs - rich and detailed facial expressions. While the image could use a little better crop, the vaguely detailed background compliments the intensity and meaningful purpose perfectly captured. A complete technical and artistic success. Should be a ribbon contender. Well done. |

Yikes!..The water is too cold!!!!by danielcheong1974Comment: An excellant motion shot rich in detail with excellant light and shadow control. The whites are right on the edge of being over exposed which is a plus and adds to the dynamic impression. The little water droplets are a bit of a distraction, but those are always difficult to control in this situation. A worthy entry into the challenge. Rerated from an initial 8 to a 9. Well done. |

Just Hangin' Aroundby ButterflyGirlComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other insect images, the image is technically flawed due to a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring in addition to the soft focus which is ineffective. The distance involved leads to lack of detail which does not help the image at all. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

Flutter fuelby RmacComment: A very good image of a humming bird in motion, it is a little less detailed than it should be given the very interesting colors of the pin feathers. Properly framed, the emphasis on the bird rather than the feeder is an excellant example of framing and composition. Not quite the artistic success it could have been - a little more time and patience in capturing these elusive birds would have helped. A worthy entry into the challenge. |

Bounceby k9logicComment: Is there a more natural way to envoke graceful action imagery? A terrific capture, it is full of intensity, color and detail. Some may see the slight blur on the body as a negative, but it only enhances the detail of the dog's face as it concentrates. A wonderful capture and worth every point of it's rating. A technical and artistic success. |

Sunrise Sonataby SandyPComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring is the major issue along with a very slightly over done sharpening. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |
