Two by Lightby SandyPComment: Sandy,
This might seem forward of me, but as a newbie, I like to look at the portfolios of people on the forum threads as a way to get a feel for who is participating here and what is generally being produced.
First of all, your images are stunning and beautiful - incredible work. I don't understand how you haven't walked away with more ribbons from some of the challenge entries.
Second, I wonder if you would mind if I pointed my high school and college art/photography students at this particulr image "Two by Light" as an example of the perfect blend of art as/and photography? It is simply gorgeous, perfectly framed and captured with every aspect well controlled and presented - an explosion of grace and beauty.
Third - might it be possible to obtain a print? :>)
Fourth - have you considered doing a gallery showing? I have a good friend in San Antonio who has very strong connections to the art community there and I'd be glad to point him to this site, and your own website and see if he could help set something up.
Great body of work - something that I don't have the patience or eye for even after 50 some odd years of photographing the world around me.
Take care - all the best to you and yours.
Later,
Tom |

Serenityby jcarComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. The rather large space detracts from the subject significantly. |

Anas platyrhynchosby marbroComment: Woulda, coulda, shoulda - the rich detail and excellant capture of the mallard is lost in the white and busy background. Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge. The distance involved leads to lack of perspective which does not help the image at all. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

Good landing !by PanksComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, the image is technically flawed due to a difficult lighting situation leading to over done whites which over power the incredible action in this image. While properly focused with good detail this technical flaw did not help the image at all. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

One in a Millionby androgeusComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other insect images, the image is technically flawed due to a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring in addition to the soft focus which is ineffective. The distance involved leads to lack of detail which does not help the image at all. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting or a closer focus with a little more motion control with the camera. |

Take the View. Leave the Bread.by raishComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, the image is technically flawed due to a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring. The blank sky also enhances this problem. The distances involved lead to lack of detail which does not help the image at all.
