Caballadaby HipychikComment: A good action shot rich in detail with plenty to look at. A good exposure resulting in excellant color. A worthy entry into the challenge with good detail in general and outstanding color and detail on the lead horse. A good stop motion capture. Originally rated a 7 on initial review, this had been rerated to an 8 for artistic effect. Well done. |

Escape!by fldaveComment: A good action shot rich in detail with plenty to look at. A good exposure and clever conversion with the rich color tones of the dog contrasting with the grayscale background.. A worthy entry into the challenge with good detail and a terrific action component. |

D I V E : Platypus by hotpastaComment: A good action shot rich in detail with plenty to look at. A good exposure that just seems a little flat which may be the result of the lighting, but more likely the result of the dark and gray. A worthy entry into the challenge with good detail and action component. Having said that, it just appears to be uninteresting in an artistic sense. |

Hobbesby phreakComment: Something that one doesn't often see with black dogs - rich and detailed facial expressions. While the image could use a little better composition, the vaguely detailed background compliments subjest. An good image perfectly captured. While technically a solid image, it lacks substantive artistic impact. Still, a worthy entry into the challenge. |

Scissor-Tailed Flycatcherby DrPhotoComment: Audubon perfect, this is an amazing image richly detailed, properly framed and composed with nothing out of place and technically perfect. It has a great deal of artistic impact and is as stunningly beautiful the third or fourth viewing as it was on the first. A complete artistic and technical success demonstrating motion, grace, and beauty. Well done. Originally rated a 7, this was a mistake on the part of the reviewer because of a faulty initial impression. A 10 is in order. |

Stomping Groundsby KaliComment: There are some aspects of this image which are very effective - the vaguely detailed background and linear motion foreground is very intriguing. Unfortunaely, the motion blur isn't as effective from an artistic standpoint and a little more motion control focusing on the subject would have been a huge plus - a great subject with great color detail that is lost in the motion. Still a good solid entry into the challenge |

Ascendby CuttoothComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, the image is technically flawed in a couple of ways due to a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring and lack of detail in the bird. The image is too tall to be effective and while the author has matched the title to the image, it just falls short of being truly effective in the artistic sense. Images like this are always difficult and the author has done well capturing a spur of the moment image. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

hippos hippoing (or whatever it is they do)by MacroMakerComment: On first review, this image came across as a little under exposed, but on comment review, it would appear that it is perfectly exposed with a couple of minor issues with over done highlights. A good solid action shot that exposing the myth of hippos being jolly animals with good dispositions. A worthy entry into the challenge. A suggestion for the future would be to use a little more light control and go with area metering rather than spot metering which is usually the problem with an image that has highlights like this. |
