Two Dollars to Winby cebuloulouComment: The indefinite focus in addition to the just slightly over saturated colors does not match the narrow cropping which is very effective. A good action capture marred by these two issues. A little bit more time with focusing and a little more color control in post processing would have improved this image tremendously. |

Sophia Flewby RKTComment: The grain is effective but a more effective treatment would have been to crop the bottom as the image is too tall. The artistic impression is good, but it might have been a good idea to change from black and white to sepia or a more neutral tone. A good entry into the challenge and originally rated a 6, it has been rerated a 7 on review. |

. . . like the windby glad2badadComment: Originally rated a 6, this has been rerated 8 - it is a purely poetic motion capture with a great deal of artistic impact. Not perfect technically, the artistic component overwhelms any technical issues - poetry in motion, this is a very worthy entry into the challenge. |

A duck's interpretation of poetic movementby bjoernComment: A very good action shot that falls just short of being a technical success. A difficult lighting problem with the flatish green background in combination with a odd lighting angle. Some of the body details are lost in dark while others aren't apparent at all. A good entry into the challenge that falls just short of being a technical and artistic success. |

Follow the Leaderby smudgeSMJComment: Not quite to the same level of expertise as some of the other avian images in this challenge, the image is technically flawed in a couple of ways being under focused in addition to a difficult lighting situation leading to rather flat and dull coloring. The blank sky also enhances these two problems and makes the focus problem stand out. A good effort that might have been improved with a little more patience waiting for a different angle and lighting. |

Fastest in the Tankby ErikVComment: The initial rating of 6 on this image was mistaken. On first review, it appeared to be a riot of color without a lot of definition, but on review, the fish just jumps out of the background - it takes a while to see it which is a bit of a problem, but the detail is there - the problem lies in the overly color busy background. A little more bokeh would have helped the eye differentiate between the fish and background. A good entry into the challenge, it's been rerated an 8. Well done. |

Where No Puppy's Gone Beforeby JammurComment: A good image of a curious pup. From a technical standpoint, it's not a great image because of the lens/motion blur and the very slight oversharpening of the dog. A little more camera control along with some motion control would have brought out more detail and given the image a little more impact from an artistic standpoint. A good solid entry into the challenge. |

Uncoiled Springby SiggavComment: A good image of a pouncing cat and, from a technical standpoint, a terrific conversion. Rich in detail, a little more tracking on the motion would have brought out more detail and given the image a little more impact from an artistic standpoint. A good solid entry into the challenge. |

Skitterby snafflesComment: A good action shot rich in detail with plenty to look at. A good exposure with the rich color tones. Not particularly a motion shot, it is a good macro that could use a little more focus and a little heavier hand on the exposure. A worthy entry into the challenge. |

poseur by GnarfComment: A very amusing photograph that falls short of being perfect. A little longer look would have helped along wtih a brighter exposure. Still, a very interesting image with a good humor component. Well done. |
