A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way - perfect demonstration of lighting control and use of the zone system along with DOF control - a perfect conversion. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image being a character study. A very worthy entry into the challenge, it should place high. Well done.

The Take Off

From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal because it takes too long to find the subject being located in the very right top corner - it is also much too small to have true artistic impact. A better choice might have been to change the title and crop out the plane and just go with the sky which is very dramatic. A good entry into the challenge.

Coming close to a previous image in the Motion challenge, this image has the same sense of humor perfectly imparted by it's title and concept but it may lack universal appeal for the same reasons. A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint it's high detail and color control is a huge plus. It should place well in the challenge - probably a top twenty image, a potential top ten and ribbon contender. Well done.

A beautiful image, richly detailed with all technical aspects controlled to perfection. Perfect color control that imparts depth and dimension along with pleasing tones and no detail is singularly over whelming - a complete and total artistic success. There there is justice in the world, this would be a blue ribbon winner and an all time favorite for many DPC participants. Significant wow factor and artistic impact. No superlatives are capable of expressing the excellance of this image. Well done.

A good solid image that properly framed and composed. From a technical standpoint, it's a little flawed in that the object of the child's delight is not in focus and the rather vague hand holding the object is lost in the background of the face - better DOF control would have been a plus. From an artistic standpoint it would have been a better choice to use a different angle centering the hand and object, or an alternative to that would have been to get higher and look down on the subject. Excellant use of the zone system to give the image some pop. A good entry into the challenge.

A well thought out and applied title gives this image a very important wow factor and frames the author's intent perfectly. A complete technical and artistic success. Given the subject matter, it may not have universal appeal, but it should place well in the challenge - within the top ten and a potential ribbon winner. Well done.

A crop of the bottom 1/3 of the image would have improved this image tremendously. The "model" technique is an interesting one. A very interesting entry into the challenge it should place well with those familiar with the technique. Well done.
