A good image which could be viewed as a technical failure. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image with a dream like quality that is very effective - perhaps not of universal appeal - but that's how is seems to be presented. This isn't an abstract as much as it is more an impressionist concept in the mold of a classical period Claude Monet or modern era Thomas Dewing. If viewed by someone with an art background, this should place high.

It might have been more interesting if, for instance, the author could have gotten below the bridge or at an angle were the bridge stood out more from the background as they are similar in tone. A good entry into the challenge.

A good look from behind the catamaran towards the subjects, or a closer look at the catamaran towards the water would have been a better choice. A good entry into the challenge.

The gain effect is very dreamlike and an unusual application - much like early Civil war images only in color. The attempt to recreate the times using ISO and grain is a very good idea and in this case, it appears to have been a success. While some may view this as a huge mistake, it does work and combined with the action imparts a feeling of history viewed through a time machine. Probably not a high score image, in this reviewer's opinion, it is a unigue and very different way of processing for effect and in that sense, it works in fine fashion. Well done.
