The Sun Also Risesby chaliceComment: The photo seems a little odd to me. I personally do not like the dark clouds and the blue/gray sky. I guess the photo seems a little choppy and doesn't really flow throughout.

A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Manby namComment: I like the shot. I particularly like the expression on his face...almost a look of destitution. I am not getting Irish as much as I am getting Amish. I know Amish isn't a nationality, and I guess you could have Amish Irishmen.

The Call of the Wildby skewsmeComment: Alright, so my take on the photo.
I can see some literal translations in this photo...
One obviously the animal is calling...and it is wild. Got it.
Now for the stretch...the dog's name is Buck. I guess this animal would be a Buck if that is how they name the male.
The image is just ok to me. It doesn't really make me feel anything. The whites on the body would be better if there was more contrast. I would also like to see more detail in the horns. It looks like they have great texture.

Keep the aspidistra flying - George Orwell (1936)by hajekaComment: Ok, so the plant is an aspidistra, but other than that, I don't see the relationship with the book other than the one word in the title.
For the pic:
It would have been a good play on words had the plant been suspended in air or something. I would have liked to have seen more detail in the greener areas as well. Maybe a thinner angle for the bottom of the leaf too.

Brave New World - Aldous Huxleyby DamonComment: It's been a long time since I have read the book so.....
This does not seem like an image that suggest Brave New World to me.
I like how you have captured the light in the photo, and I like the foreground grass, but the overall image does not doesn't piece together well for me.

Piercing by Ryu Murakamiby P-A-U-LComment: It's got some great detail in the face, but it is just a piercing of a cow's?? nose. I know it goes with the title of the book, but the theme of the book has nothing to really do with this...at least from what I read about it. Maybe a different piercing with a dark undertone or something?

Lord of the fliesby nygoldComment: Pretty cool shot. I like how you can see the bones of the kids. Makes it look like they have been in search of food. The best part of the photo is the kid in the bottom left...just peeking out a little.

Tribute to O.Henryby lei_73Comment: I get the cabbage and cards. I think this could have been staged a lot better to make it more interesting. The lighting on the cabbage is good.
