Koosh Textureby PoobaComment: Interesting subject to photograph. The koosh ball almost looks like a nice blooming flower. Lighting that isn't as harsh would bring out more of the plastic feeling of the material that the subject is made of.
Currently it looks like a light is shining right at the subject and takes away from the vibrant colors that should be presented. The blacks in the center of the koosh really helps to make the koosh seem to push out of the shot. Changing the lighting position would add even more. "8" |

Journey Of Corduroyby ijerryComment: With the closeup of the subject almost seems like the terrace landscaping or the sand of a desert blown by the wind. The very shallow depth of field isolates the texture of the corduroy.
I would like to see a version maybe with less shallow focusing. I think it would give the composition a more dramatic and interesting feeling. "9" |

Palm Surfaceby BupuComment: The contrast of the lights and dark of the shadows and highlights really bring out the texture of the tree trunk. You eyes follow the trunk from the right hand side where the subject is bright toward the darker shaded side of the tree. The angle you chose gives the sense of the roundness of the subject. "9" |

untitledby MattOzComment: The highlights and shadows captured definitely gives a great sense of the rough texture in the subject. The dynamic angle used really makes this composition very interesting. Reminds me of the rippling of a splash in the water. Excellently shot. "10" |

Peekabooby scalvertComment: The diagonal frame that the towel forms really bring your eyes toward the eyes of the baby. The tonal range that you were able to capture makes this image very pleasant to look at. The great expressions on the face just finishes this composition perfectly. Love the slight hightlight in the eye. "10" |

Rough & Readyby boomerComment: The circular composition of the tree trunk makes your eyes follow the rings toward the center of the subject. The cropping you chose makes this shot very interesting. Lighting really makes this shot pop especially with the great shadows that fall on the rings themselves. "10" |

weary warriorby nbortonComment: Great closeup of a fire plug. fire hydrant. The layers of peeling paint really help to give a sense of texture. The darker background combine with the contrasting colors of the subject really makes the composition interesting. The frame looks a bit too big for the shot. "10" anyways. |

Nature's Textureby DianaComment: The composition is very interesting with the diagonal setup of the corn reaching for the sky. The contrasting colors of the sky and the corn really help to make your eyes concentrate on the corn. Great DOF on the corn. The shadows really bring out the texture of the corn. |

Golden glowby NatashaComment: The circular shapes of the outer dark bowl and the inner yellow bowl brings your eyes toward the main subject of the flower. The use of a dark bowl makes you eyes follow from left toward the right of the colorful subjects. The bowls seem to form separate frames for the within each other. The gap on the right side is good because it gives you an idea of the shape of the bowl, other wise you won't know what it is.
The different shades of yellow/gold hues in the bowl really works complimentary to the vibrant pink color of the flower and makes it pop out even more.
