First Impression: Nice to see some unusual footwear in this challenge but like many of my submissions this falls into the good idea, pity about the execution pack.
Composition:A little too tightly cropped for me and don't like seeing the join between background and table/floor. The positioning of the footwear and angle of view sets them off nicely.
Subject: Meets the challenge well with some unusual footwear. I'm happy that there are just the 'shoes' in the shot but not so happy about the background but the reds set of the gold very well.
Technical: You have some blown out parts on the shoes and harsh shadows, maybe some diffused lighting would have helped? I know you didn't have much time as this was shot close to the end of the submission period but think you could have played with the settings somewhat, 13 seconds at F/2.8 will rarely give good results in this type of scenario.
Final thoughts: I'm loving the 'shoes' and whilst I was a 5 vote I do think with a little work this image could be so much better so, a little challenge for you (if you wish to accept) is to reshoot them changing the surroundings, framing and lighting to give a better representation of your challenge entry.
