Holiday Bluesby SeanachaiComment by ahaze: Technical: fits the challenge. Exposure composition focus lighting all good.
Personal: The selective color with either be loved or hated. Personally I like it, but don't see a purpose. The title doesn't support it, and by the eye being in color it took me longer to realize there were tears. First I investigated the eye color, then the mascaa, then I realized her eye was wet. While there isn't much face here, she doesn't appear to have a "blue" expression.
My vote: 5 |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by Neuferland: Yes it is, isn't it? This is a good shot of what is important to one part of our society and an eyesore to another. An outlet for their creative energy and a plce to call their own while society turns a blind eye and does't offer solutions to these problems. I like the shot overall but it seems a tad oversharp and the light is a bit blown out on the right side. A 7 |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by Katspetkat: You know, that's a nice added touch, the "I like Pope" in the background. I can see this as sacred for the idea of being in between worlds and you can ascend or descend depending on your life. It's good imagery, but that message is a little obscured by the overall appearance. Still, good use of the challenge. |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by ScottK: Aesthetically, something just doesn't quite click for me. Not sure if it's lighting, perspective - maybe contrast or tone? Just feels a little flat. But a sort of bold idea for the challenge, though to be picky, there's nothing particularly sacred about this place, just some of the references. But it's unique. |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by muckpond: i'm not sure why this would be a "sacred" place. "scared" would be more like it. cool staircase, though.... a bit overexposed. |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by dsidwell: Interesting take on the challenge. I know some scholars who would laud you and claim that such places are indeed some of our most sacred. So great job! You might to experiment with a bit more contrast and/or color saturation, but I like the point of view, and the interpretation of the challenge. |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by karmat: Good exposure -- the details are visible throughout. Would it have been possible to get a more dramatic view of the staircase, as that seems to be the focal point of the picture? |

sacred and profaneby SeanachaiComment by Gordon: Competently taken, but I don't quite see what the point was. There seems to be a riot of options for close-ups and macro shots within this subject to make some really great abstract images. This feels like a prelude to the real photography |
