this is electric. I've not had time to look at this challenge, but last night, trying out my new chromebook, I clicked on it and stepped into a new world. Checking it on my pc monitor it is not quite so electric, which is a significant piece of tech into, possibly why you did not average an 8.

Fabulous. I love everything about this except the crop. Perhaps it is too obvious to make this square, but although I understand the need for some space to the right I feel that there's just a tad too much of it.

This works for me as having been inspired by the novel. I've spent a lot of time in "Steinbeck Country", Salinas and environs, and this scene feels faithful to the rundown farm buildings (and run-down people) we used to see a lot of, and maybe still do for all I know. There's a nice sense of hopeless foreboding ("What's the world gonna throw at me NEXT?") in this shot, and that works.

I'm not sure all your processing choices really work for me, but I can see why you made them. I do like the granularity of it. 7 from me.
