I was about to say the bee kinda disappears in the B&W version, but I seem to recall they disappear in sunflower centers in color as well, so my thought of using a different conversion method wouldn't work. Works OK for the challenge. If it were my composition, I'd want the bee just a bit more in the frame, maybe compose it at an angle (the bee at an angle) to create a bit of diagonal across - sometimes that gives a more dramatic feel to a shot.

I think I have the exact same chess set. I actually really like the reflection. I'd love to see a lower angle on the board to make the pieces look bigger.

And it's a little curious that the white king has been pulled out past the pawn line.

This shot would have looked better with different lighting. It looks like you used an on-camera flash, and that makes the hand a bit too bright for my taste.
