I like this, but I like ferns anyway. The wide crop helps a lot with this by accenting the line of focused tips on the fern. I have a feeling that this was done with the Vivitar instead of the Nikkor. It just has that wonderful shallow DOF that's not attainable with f3.5, unless you were using the new ext tube to get in close with the 18-135.

I do like it but the tree foliage is a little 'crunchy' - always difficult in B&W 'basic'.
