The background is wasted space and doesnt add anything to your shot, I would have concerntrated more on the atcual door handle/feature as this is your intersting subject matter.

i can see your reflection! i feel as though there are a few distracting elements in this - the plaque in the top left, your reflection, the edge of the window itself... but a tighter crop wouldnt work wither. maybe a different composition where those elements may have worked FOR you? it is certainly a fascination subject!
