Long Forgottenby DCrest01Comment by NikonJeb: I love old trains and have many images of derelicts so this image really resonates with me. It's just terrific. To have the depth of detail and crisp, clear colors that lead on into the bright white light of the beyond? Incredible composition, IMO. Congrats on the TT! |

Long Forgottenby DCrest01Comment by streetpigeon: Yes it's abandoned, but this rail car appears kind of sprightly. As a matter of fact, since it's emerging from the outright oblivion of the upper left corner, there's almost a sense of resurrection here. The colors are rich, and the semi-circle of green further enlivens. The composition is well-balanced.
At first I saw the chock in front of the left wheel - from our perspective - as a human hand. Happy Halloween.
Excellent image. |

Long Forgottenby DCrest01Comment by Skip: what a wonderful subject. not sure that the composition is working for me, though. the leading lines are quickly taking me out of the image, rather than through it. and they're leading me right into a serious glare. and the eye-level perspective is just a bit too pedestrian. maybe if you had shot it from the far right, and either higher or lower, you would have made a more compelling image.
love the colors, though.
these are by no means perfect, but take a look to get an idea as to what i'm talking about. retired monster |

Floralby DCrest01Comment by GeorgesBogaert: I am not a fan of flower shots, and was afraid to see a whole bunch of them in this challenge. This one however kept my attention. Why? Those petals looks so small compared to the peduncle, and the little yellow stamen standing in the middle. The overall tones are just a little dark. I don't know the ISO used, (looks quite high) but there seem to be a grain not suitable in this type of picture. A6 from me. |
