Lake Soli-Tree by WeJayComment by Lonni: Oh.. so much potential! This image has a lot going for it, but is held back by a few things. firstly (and easily fixed) is the wonky horizon, which is most noticeable on the water line. Water is always perfectly horizontal, so it is an easy fix with a rotation of the image. The other thing is the placement of the tree. I suspect it was partially-cropped like that in the original frame, but if not, then it was cropped too harshly for my liking.
I know you needed the tree to fit the challenge, but I think it is unnecessary to the image in general. I think the image is beautiful with just the boat, the birds and the sunset. I'd also clone out some of the buoys.
What a remarkable capture! |

Lake Soli-Tree by WeJayComment by Jutilda: WOW - the sun, birds, a city, a boat AND a tree. Nice. If I were to do a thing, I'd not have it cropped so tightly to the tree on the right. I like the diagonal line created, connecting the sun, boat and bench. |

Lake Soli-Tree by WeJayComment by manic35: Very Nile! Beautiful colours. The subject (i.e. single tree) isn't super strong, but overall a great feel to the image. Nice exposure, too. 8. |

Lake Soli-Tree by WeJayComment by tanguera: Stunning picture, but not the best "tree" in the challenge. Still, I'm making it a favorite. |

Lake Soli-Tree by WeJayComment by wingwham: nice picture. good job incorporating a single tree into it... but you didn't even keep the whole thing in photo. It is cropped off. doesn't really meet the challenge for me. the tree isn't the main subject. 2 |

Mirror Mirror...Show me what I want to see!by WeJayComment by Abstract: This photograph would have had a lot more oomph/impact/wow-factor if it was cropped close to the face of the girl.
even though foreground and background elements provide sense of "reality" and convey the message you are trying to portray through the title, it takes a lot away from the photograph itself. just my two cents.
over all i like the image for its journalistic value. |
