While the rock has an interesting profile, and you made humorous use of the formation, the low contrast of the rock makes it difficult to get involved with the interesting detail of the rock. The obvious manipulation of the sky bothers me, as does the out-of-focus 'lollipop'.

I think you would have had a nicer file to work with if you'd closed the aperture for a longer depth of field and used a slower shutter speed, possibly opening up the combination a full stop to add sparkle to the highlights.

This is all personal preference of course, and I see from the comments others disagree with me. I see a greater potential for this image, however, and applaud the eye that saw the figure.

To me this just does not meet the challenge. There is nothing candid about this particular photograph. Nice shot but perhaps should be for a different competition other than candid.

Good shot but personally I would have cropped out the bloke on the left (he's too sharp and distracting) this would have left a background that adds to the shot

While this is a great and I do mean "Holy Cow Batman look at all those fireworks!", I cannot see any link to the challenge of candid here. Aside from the spectacular wow look at all those freakin fireworks factor, the crop is the only other thing going for this shot in the candid challenge and it is only enough to rate a 3.

I don't know if you are male or female, but I'll assume male. And a man who can dance has got it made. Unfortunately I do not have it made. I love the picture by the way. Having the subject dead center works here, I think.
