I love the luminescence of wet pavement & the dark sky in this is the perfect backdrop. The blur only obscures the fine detail. I think the cars work because the license plate info is not there. |

The Red Leashby jomariComment by pixelpig: I think I recognize the shape of a Rottie. A story is implied, but what I find myself thinking about is the way a camera will flatten the perspective, so that I don't know for sure if the 3 were really a group, or just lined up by the camera angle. Nice shot, lots of vitality. |

One Day ...by jomariComment by pixelpig: It's fun to take out a new camera--especially if it was free. Congratulations on your win. Nice negative space created by the light here. |

NGPhoto002by jomariComment by SaraR: I was looking through my art books, and the more I looked at Impressionist paintings, the more I thought back to this photo. I feel that of all the photos posted to the side challenge, this most closely fits with Impressionist school in terms of art. Light and people doing what they do were two of the most defining aspects of impressionism, and this fits the genre so well. |

The Red Leashby jomariComment by MargaretNet: First Impressions: A photo with a story, what really works to me are the colors - red, blue and brown. It is easy to tell what is in the image and how all elements relate to one another. The blur gives the image the flow and the links between all elements.
Technique: slow shutter, basic PP
Suggestions: great as is
Overall a great example of photo impressionism using slow shutter speed. Message edited by author 2011-03-11 23:49:05. |
