Night to Rememberby jomariComment by pmichaud: I first thought these to be fireflies - reminding me of my childhood in Missouri - hot, humid summer nights.... heat lightning... katydids ..... Colorado doesn't have fireflies and I miss them... Then I read your comments and gained a whole new perspective. And then.... read the rest of the comments and gained still another perspective - making this an image to remember... Fantastic!! |

NGPhoto002by jomariComment by pixelpig: Even if your little freebie P&S is a POS, it's perfect for impressionist captures of light. Hang on to it! Get some more of these lovely comps. I love the luminescence of wet pavement & the dark sky in this is the perfect backdrop. The blur only obscures the fine detail. I think the cars work because the license plate info is not there. |

The Red Leashby jomariComment by pixelpig: I think I recognize the shape of a Rottie. A story is implied, but what I find myself thinking about is the way a camera will flatten the perspective, so that I don't know for sure if the 3 were really a group, or just lined up by the camera angle. Nice shot, lots of vitality. |

One Day ...by jomariComment by pixelpig: It's fun to take out a new camera--especially if it was free. Congratulations on your win. Nice negative space created by the light here. |

NGPhoto002by jomariComment by SaraR: I was looking through my art books, and the more I looked at Impressionist paintings, the more I thought back to this photo. I feel that of all the photos posted to the side challenge, this most closely fits with Impressionist school in terms of art. Light and people doing what they do were two of the most defining aspects of impressionism, and this fits the genre so well. |
