That is very cool that they are wild in your area! I like the crop and composition of the birds and the fact that they stand out very well against the dark green background. The two in the corner look so happy and the two at the bottom look like they want to hook up! :)

Always fascinating to see what we think of as caged pets wild and free. They really are lovely birds.

Very nice DOF and composition.

For IDs try bugguide.net, though for a beetley-type bug you can spend hours digging through all the families and tribes and whatnot so it may be better to join and post the picture and ask for an expert to ID it for you. If you're really that curious ;-)

Really nice shot Marion - good crop and focus, with a thistle adding a nice dab of colour top left of picture and it looks like two more being reflected in the wing case boottom right of picture. Also the spikes of the Thistle nicely compliment his (her?) antennae and spiky legs.

Lovely feeling of depth as well as you look past him into the foliage.

Good shot.

You have a serious noise problem in the blues of your sky. Did you boost the colours a lot?

hey marion ..
i love how reflections create different layers of a scene .. layers upon layers sort'v ..
you've done a great process on this especially bringing in the upper door frame .. its just brilliant ..
i love how you're superimposed on the statue .. the real and the not real .. the real and the creation ..
you're very clever taking a pic without looking thru the viewfinder .. very clever .. !!
