A good demonstration of how lighting can be used to create a "noir" effect - it matches the challenge in every respect because both the subject and the lighting is used in a creative fashion to capture a mood piece that is outstanding. Sometimes images can tell stories and this image sparks the imagination which is what lighting is all about. Well done.

Nice use of negative space, I like the idea too and a feeling of confinement / being caged definitely comes across, I do feel the girl looks a little soft though
