You're on a promising path here. Nice use of overlap to add texture without overwhelming the image. That said, I wonder how it would look if you'd partially masked out the overlay on the sphere(?) to let a little more detail on the palm trees through. I look forward to seeing where else you go with this.

this is absolutely gorgeous .. i'm loving those incredibly rich and vibrant colours .. the dark is wonderful with that one yellow bloom lit up .. makes me think of my mum who passed away four years ago .. she grew roses .. she picked them for the house and painted them too .. :)
