one dark night.jpgby jettyimagesComment by jettyimages: Thank you both cryan and beamsclan for your lovely comments on this shot. It was one of the first I took with a DSLR (the D40X, February this year), I knew almost nothing about how to use it, and had to clamber up many many sharp volcanic rocks to get the right angle. I started shooting at sunset, but this one was taken in almost complete darkness, with a 9 second exposure. Getting back down to the sand was a REAL challenge! Not a lot has been done to it post processing, just a couple of levels and a white balance, from memory. Some find it depressing, but I'm finding the deep thinkers seem to really love it. |

love.jpgby jettyimagesComment by jettyimages: Thank you Melethia, that is very kind of you to look at my work. Its a great boost to my waning confidence!
By the way, these horses are incredible - they are part of a pack of 5 wild brumbies that live in a beautiful national park about 2 hours from here. They have a really strange habit though - when you pull up in your car, they all come running through the woods towards you (well, you think its towards you.....) and go immediately to your car. They then spend ages licking and biting the car! Unfortunately the camera comes out and my protective instincts fly out the window, so my car has now been scarred rather badly by the horses' teeth, but I figure its worth the experience, because after they've done with your car, you are friends for life and they give you huge hugs. Quite an amazing experience - I'll put some more shots of them in action up on the site a bit later. |

old fashioned girls.jpgby jettyimagesComment by jettyimages: Thanks for all the great comments Mephisto! This one was taken at my daughter's birthday party at a kegel bowling alley - the one on the right had had her photo taken by me for the first time a couple of weeks earlier, and had since discovered her true beauty, so I couldn't stop her from constantly posing like this whenever I had the camera in my hand. The one in the middle was saying 'go away!' lol, and the one on the left is my daughter, who was more interested in the bowling score than the shot. I love it too, its so old fashioned. |
