Not a bad idea, though I think the very harsh light here hurts somewhat. The chromatic aberration on the hole rims is a byproduct of the harshness. You might want to convert to black and white to get rid of that effect. I'd try a more diffuse light if you're into exploring it more.

I like it but wish the part in focus was at the very top of the cork. Can't explain why I wish that. :)

Unique and intriguing shot! I like it! DOF works very well for me here.

Missed the focus...need to expand DOF a lot to try this. Another option is to take the same shot 3 times changing only focus and then layer...but this is outside the rules I suspect.

What an absolutely excellent use of shallow DOF! I really like the way the focus settles on the cork, with it's printed designs, and the rim of the bottle. The sharply angled viewpoint also makes the image striking - reducing a familiar object to a somewhat more unfamiliar shape. Do you have any outtakes with the cork text rotated further into the image? I'm curious as to whether I'd like that better or not than your chosen orientation. I'm not voting this one but this is one of my favourites from this challenge.

I don't get this one at all. Is the B for bottle or blurry? seems like there should be some semblence of focus on the bottle. I'm assuming this was done on purpose, but why? Something tells me this might be the last place picture this week, or my glasses are getting out of date.
