Blue Bugby StarbananaComment by Starbanana: Half inch is probably about right. He wasnt a huge one and I only spotted him because I had to concentrate so much on not falling over my feet!
Originally posted by The_Tourist: It has good detail on the lines on it's body. Good macro shot. I'm not a big post processing guy, but maybe tone down the highlights on the upper part of it's body. Otherwise, a good shot. Just curious, how big is the beetle? half inch? Looks huge in the pic. |

Helm crag pathby StarbananaComment by Starbanana: Thx for the feedback, this camera does have a tendancy to blow highlights (bad workman blames tools i know...) I will have to investigate if I can change the exposure. Not entirely sure
I have never added a vignette before, had a bit of a play in PS but I need another go as Im not sure I was doing it right! lol!
Originally posted by glad2badad: Looks and sounds like a fun outing. :-) As a photo I can't help but notice the blown highlights. Does your camera have the ability to adjust the exposure, like adjusting the ev to -.5, for a shot like this? Maybe add a slight vignette to lead the viewer a little? As is, I want to follow the rocks front center and then up and out to the top right (the rocks form a natural leading line). Just some observations, and not as organized as I'm like them to be (little bit rushed this morning)...sorry. |
