Bindweedby StarbananaComment by Leo: Even though it's a white flower, I do like the desat. Makes that touch of color in the center standout that much more. Pretty sharp in the center of the flower. |

In the fieldby StarbananaComment by Leo: Very crisp. The foreground flower really stands out due to it's color. Nice DOF, nice clouds to top it off. |

In the fieldby StarbananaComment by glad2badad: Nice, gentle country feel to this photo. Very crisp in the foreground with a nice soft feeling in the remainder. BTW - Have any other kind of flowers around there? You know, like a sunflower or something? He-he. Sorry, couldn't resist. :-D |

Random "flowers"by StarbananaComment by glad2badad: I like the earthier, richer color in this one much better than the other. Although I'd be interested to see if a slight levels adjustment would brighten it up a tad and give the colors a little more pop. |

Random "flowers"by StarbananaComment by Starbanana: Originally posted by pixelpig: Nice effect here, which tutorial were you following? |
This one
I inverted the under exposed layer wrongly & then played around with the layer types. Think I changed under to darken & over to difference. I think the tutorial is a good starting place for a first time and playing with the results is definitely interesting :) Message edited by author 2009-09-09 04:54:41. |

Random "flowers"by StarbananaComment by Leo: Yes, like this one much better. I don't know anything about tone mapping, but this image looks "richer". The colors of the foreground flower, the background flower, and the background itself is "deeper". |

Random "flowers"by StarbananaComment by Yo_Spiff: Whatever you did, it worked well. It brought out detail and gave this a lot of visual pop, but without the cartoony effect that most associate with the treatment. |
