At first glance I thought this was a soft toy, but looking at it closer, it seems that you have masked off the dog from the background - unfortunately the masking is a little too obvious to be effective.

Simple and effective, an elegant candid portrait perfectly framed. There are two ways to view the rather soft focus in that while a sharper image would have been very effective, this softer approach is also a good choice and does not detract from the image in an artistic sense. A very good look at a candid moment which should place well in the competition.
