Color everywhereby PikkelComment by yakatme: Wow, definitely an appropriate and descriptive title. The focus seems to be on the iron hanger and the vertical stems of the purple flowers. My eye tends to want to see the focus on the yellow flowers on the left, maybe because they are the most prominent flowers in the image.
You used almost the absolute largest aperture that your lens will allow. I would suggest using a smaller aperture to increase depth of field when capturing a scene in which there is no primary subject, and then focus one third of the way into the photo. |

Baskets full of posiesby PikkelComment by avalanche1030: There is a lot going on with this picture. First - I really like the tilt and the basket in the foreground along with the crispness of the focus. I agree with Robert about not sure where to look, on the basket or the flowers in the back. It also appears that the desat didn't happen on a few of the leaves in the upper left. |

Golden Girlby PikkelComment by avalanche1030: Great choice of subject and I do like the side angle as well. I think I would be spending A LOT of time in the greenhouse if it were still trying to snow - so ready for spring! |

Golden Girlby PikkelComment by Kelli: So pretty! You should maybe crop off the top of the picture to bring the flower in closer (and get rid of the ladder). |

Golden Girlby PikkelComment by KarenNfld: I like the side on view and the colours are nice. You could crop some of the upper area out, focus more on the flower. |

Baskets full of posiesby PikkelComment by yakatme: I like your bold attempt at thnking 'out of the box', but I find myself wanting to see more of what might be spilling out of the basket. This is almost like to images combined into one in which my eye moves back and forth from the foreground subject to the colorful flowers in the top of the photo and can't decide upon which to rest. The use of a tilted horizon is very interesting and adds a lot of drama edit to add as does the use of selective desat. Message edited by author 2009-04-30 22:52:12. |

Golden Girlby PikkelComment by yakatme: That's a beautiful flower that you captured there, along with the lush green foliage. Good focus on your subject. I would like to see this shot with a tighter crop that keeps all that I just mentioned but cuts out the distracting elements in the background in the top and the upper left of the image. The striking yellow flower against the dark green, flawless foliage would be an awesome combination. |
