6 - Morning Cigaretteby tvsometimeComment by bsluijk: I like the determined look on his face, highlighting the necessity of this smoke. The second person is a nice addition, but unfortunately on the wrong side of his stare: the first guy looks to the frame, a little more on the left would have created more room for his view. But I realize you have to work with what is presented to you, and the light is beautiful here which is a great asset to your picture. |

6 - Morning Cigaretteby tvsometimeComment by Dennisheckman: Same here in Colorado. No smoking inside anywhere and limited locations outside too. I'm proud to be an ex-smoker, March 17th 1995 was my last puff. The image is a nice candid. You caught a life moment with the front guy looking very serious about something. Maybe his normal demeanor in the city. |

6 - Morning Cigaretteby tvsometimeComment by MacDonald: What a great shot - totally agree with all that Nam wrote. Something about how one smoker is in the light and theother in the bright sunshine kind of speaks to their personalities - smokers are pariahs and one guy knows it and is not taking any chances of getting called any nasty names. It has a great story. |

6 - Morning Cigaretteby tvsometimeComment by nam: Now see, I think this would have made a great Jagar entry - keep that in mind as you shoot this week :) Great light and I love his slightly disgruntled expression. The second smoker in the background is nice, too - I would darken that structure he's leaning on considerably and maybe take down the brightness on the main subject's legs just a bit - just to focus our attention completely on their faces, hands, activity. Like this a lot, Tom. |

4 - Arriving Lateby tvsometimeComment by Abra: This is very nice and I do like your b&w conversions technique. However, I do prefer your other entries. I love it when motion blur of the subject is capture but this feels as though the camera movement as well as the subject conflicts a bit. I find his bright hand a bit distracting too. I only feel I can say this (which is purely only my opinion) as all of your other entries (haven’t looked at the ones posted after this yet) are just so excellent. I am really enjoying your series. |

Into the Windby tvsometimeComment by antje1777: awesome, awesome picture, however where is the wind? I will have to think about this one before voting. Wished you would have used this one for free study, definitely front page material!
OK, so I took a day to think about this. I love this image and never mind the absence of wind, it is a 10 in composition and lighting and that is what I will give it.(besides, maybe the plane implies wind somehow) 10 it is |
