Learning to Flyby KaliComment by mikeee: A tighter crop would have helped by removing the dull background and enhancing the burst of colour of the pink top.

Learning to Flyby KaliComment by Ja-9: looks to be a bit of a tantrum or loss of balance...like how you made the greens pop against the gray rocks |

Learning to Flyby KaliComment by posthumous: Outstanding. The title is perfect. The tilted horizon is essential to the effect. The composition is dizzying. Truly an exceptional picture. It's sad to think of all the DPC voters rushing past this... but that's life, right? All this beauty around us and we're too busy to see it. All I can do is give you some blue.

NorthWest PacificOceanby KaliComment by lunachicken: I wish I could have visited the beach when I was out that way. I expect you will be in the tilted horizon challenge, and will be looking for it. |

Contextby KaliComment by Kali: Originally posted by ubique on 02/04/2009 05:25:58 AM: The way I saw it was the overlaid image is the view into the water, to the stones in the stream bed. Then I saw that posthumous had also seen it that way, so presumably that's all wrong. Except alas I think he's right in this case, which makes the title so apt. The mood, for me, is of those late 19th century 'art' studies of sturdy ladies in bathing costumes. |
