As expected, a pure abstract usually scores pretty low. I think this one was underrated, but at least the voters are consistent. This similar looking entry by Freakin_Hilarious in the motion blur challenge scored almost identically.

Don't let the averages discourage you. Looking at the voting breakdown, I can see that 50 people (22% of the voters) felt it was worthy of a 6 or higher. There are plenty who like abstracts, even if it is not a majority.

I like this. It's got some nice tones and subtle ripples that I like.

Easy to pick this out as a LPatrick entry. You know of course, there is only a minority of voters who like these pure abstracts. Looking forward to seeing one of these nail a high score one day.

Great colors, but I think it might be too simple to do well. Feels like a cg graphic rather than a photograph. I recommend including something (anything, something small) in the vast space to make it feel a little more "real."
