i like the very bottom rose hanging over the edge of the yellow frame. but may be a different color line would be more attractive.. but i am sure you probably already experimented with diffferent colors and settled on the yellow..nice photo

Pretty flowers and nice composition. The focus is soft but otherwise okay.

Has the 3D look. Definitely a wall-hangar.

Very nice layout but the some of the edges of the roses look too "Photoshoped" and un-natural. Perhaps a more feathered selection might have helped. I do like how the rose overlaps the yellow border and think it's a nice touch.

This is a nice shot. I'm not really a fan of the yellow border, but I like the way the bottom rose overhangs it.

Very nice composition, but the focus seems to be a little soft on the bottom rose. I like the way your frame goes behind the rose ... nice touch!

Good lighting and the focus seems to be pretty even throughout the three roses! Nice setup also!

Greeting from the Critique Club JC
By Inspzil

This incidentally is the 3rd time I've tried to do this picture. Luck is not on my side

Composition - This image to me needs to go one way or the other. By that I mean that you have a nice abstract type pattern here, or you might have a good picture of the whole thing. This seems to me to be a little of both and frankly I don't think it works well. You have some great color and great pattern to build on, but not much else. The trees and stuff at the bottom need to be in there or they don't. From this distance, it's difficult to determine what the subject actually is. If it were closer, I'd say the metalwork. Sometimes stuff at the bottom or in the corners of photos is there for perspective, but I can't see what needs to be put in perspective on this shot.

Technical - This is just a little bit soft, but nothing to write home about. The framing looks a little crooked, probably by design. I don't think it really adds or detracts from the image at all. The color is super.

Overall - I don't see where exactly you were going with this, which I think was a lot of the problem with your score. I don't like saying its subjectless, but I don't have a better way to say it. Getting right up to the steel girders would make a better argument that the girders were the subject. I guess in the grand scheme of things, having a subject isn't required for every picture. On the other hand, the majority of non-landscape shots should have a definite subject or 2 even if just for something to focus on. Take care and good luck - Bob

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Hi JC :)

This is an interesting abstract study in shape and color. I'm finding it difficult to offer a lot of commentary on it. The shape and color seem to be the high point of interest, but there is no particular point that draws me in to the composition. What I DO find good about this shot is that you chose a non standard perspective to work with. This is a good starting point for a lot of creative work :)
