I figured it out the 2nd time I looked. I would have tried a little different angle with the same focus, so the child wasn't obscured as much.

I'm not really sure what you were trying to display with this image. It's interesting... the chain is the only thing that is in focus, which is fine considering that it is obvious that that is what you wanted, but I'm not sure what you were tying to say. The colorful image of the playground in the background detract from the idea of anything here being desolate. Perhaps it might have been more moving had it been taken or converted to black and white.

Good idea. I would have chosen a different perspective though. In my opinion the main subject (the child) should have been given more attention.

This is one of those photos that causes me to stop and think. I like that. At first, I thought the focus should be on the boy but the longer I look at it, the more I realize that you were right in keeping him soft in the background. It reiterates the feel of his loneliness, of not being the focus in anyone's life at that given moment. Whether he was asked to sit that way or it was a candid shot, his body language is perfect.

Nice, this shot makes you want to look at it a bit longer than most others in this challenge. The focus is key element here I think, and putting the chain in front of the kid was a good call. Maybe it would be better to put the chain and kid a bit off center, but thats a matter of taste. Good job.

I like the idea, but still it's the child which is left alone, isn't it? I would have focused the kid (maybe swinging, so one could see it behind the chain link) and not the chain. Hope that helps a bit.

this doesn't come clear for me..the swing chain (?) is too dominant for the kid's emotion to really show through
