wow. i like the contrast and saturation.. excellent photo.. i don't know about how well it fits the 'texture' challange.. i mean.. it has texture.. but you're digging deep in that sense. .. i have never seen lines so defined in a person's iris.. but lines aren't texture. an eye is smooth.... this photo doesn't really make me think of the texture "smooth" so i don't think i can give it a 10. I would if I could.

Looks like your white balance is off a little - your background is pinkish rather than white. I'm not a big fan of the dark shadow, a little less might have been better.

this might have been a more interesting shot if you used an off camera flash to light the side of the glass from the outside. neat perspective though.
