These little guys are hard to photograph, the way they run around, and they are usually pretty skittish as well. Focus seems to be best on the little plant next to the bird. I noticed that when I shoot close to level over the ground like this, that auto focus will often be fooled by things in the foreground. The dead grass does good at isolating the subject in this shot.
