Too much contrast here, the garlic head looks really overexposed with blown highlights, shot isn't poorly set up though, just too intense a light source for your subject

The range of brightness is a bit too wide here, I would suggest shining some light on the background so the garlic won't be so blown out and you will still see the background. Ambient light and a longer shutter speed might have helped to avoid the harsh shadows as well. I like the texture of the surface you used, it is very earthy which goes well with the garlic.
