assignment 3by KevinRiggsComment by Artyste: You've mimicked the overall feel really well, I do have to say. Two things that really stand out to me as differences are the sharpness on your model (yours are softer at the focal points than Jinky Arts), and the lighting (These seem a little flat to me.) With a little more work in the sharpness and contrast areas (with a boost in overall lighting), I think you'd really hit the mark. As it is, they're great shots, but as I said, those are two critical points that I see and feel fall a little short.
I love your eye and your feel for child portraiture though. We're hoping to move away from child portraitures in the next few assignments (We never really wanted to focus on it, but most people here have kids and seemed to stick with them, so Jinky Art felt like a natural choice).
So get ready to show us your studio work :) |

100_9883 - 8x10 - edited.jpgby KevinRiggsComment by sher: hi Kevin...this is a great shot and your editing is very good! this is a classic pose and it always works well. when i first looked at it, i didn't care much for the reflective floor but the more i see it, i do like it. my only nit about it is that it feels a bit too dark in comparison to the bright white BG. also, his face seems a little too shadowed against that white background. i played around a bit with it and this is what i came up with...very subtle changes but it seems to balance things out. whatcha think?
