suprise shotby ScooterMcNuttyComment by basssman7: I like the lighting in this, although it is a tad overexposed on the window side. It would have been much more effective as a vertical crop so her head was not cut off and there would not be all the empty space on the sides that does nothing for the image at all except fight for the viewers attention.
Darn..if this shot was just of her with taht expression and lighting without the extra large space at the sides and with all of her head this would have been an amazing capture. |

Me Myself and Iby ScooterMcNuttyComment by chromeydome: so, mirror self portraits are common, dime a dozen things, generally. This is, however, WONDERFUL!! lighting, focus, dof, the walls/tones on the sides, and the blown backlight behind you are all masterfully done. The lighting on your face, hair, dress is warm and natural, and your expression is serene, calm, not overly warm or overly serious. some might say you should have not cut off the top of your head, but I will disagree--the vertical lines in this image echo from one side to the other, and your straight hair is one of the lovely echos--having the hair run nearly directly out of frame keep that vertical element working. so nicely done. the oof camera is good--it is not the subject, and too often in these kind of shots dominates the image. Your choice of clothing, background, and lighting keeps it low key, and one might not even suspect this is a mirror shot, but simply someone snapping your picture as you raise or lower your camera--cannot easily tell the image is reversed, since the camera/lettering is oof. 9 Message edited by author 2008-10-08 15:48:07. |

Me Myself and Iby ScooterMcNuttyComment by david_c: Nice, intense look. I think the technicals may let you down a bit. Your WB went a bit red, and the highlights are too far to the right in your histogram. |

suprise shotby ScooterMcNuttyComment by choltmeier: Nice soft, even lighting. Seems a little more like a candid than a studio shot. I think I'd like it better if you cropped off more of the left side blur. |

suprise shotby ScooterMcNuttyComment by Melethia: You're probably bonne get told this isn't a studio shot. Probably isn't. But you have really done a nice job capturing innocence in this shot in my opinion. I really quite like it. |
