Doesn't strike me as being about: branch of biology concerned with the relations between organisms and their environment

I like the composition of this shot a lot. It's kinda a shame the power lines are in it though. For some reason I'm also curious to see it in more abstract color tones. Just a thought. Love the grass.

I like the simplicity of this. I can't decide whether I'd like it even more if it were even more simple - just grass, sky and clouds and nothing more. I know I'd rather it didn't have the pole and wires but can't decide about the dark trees. More interesting a photo than first glance might suggest.

FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Hello, Neil,

Your picture meets the challenge. I always marvel at all the different things that people think of for the different challenges! I must say that your idea is quite interesting as an idea. Unfortunately, outside of DPChallenge this photo would not "ring a bell" with many people. IMHO even here at DPC it probably is not a photo that will grab many viewer's attention for more than a moment.

I like the colour and the "plastic" look of the letters. IMO, the background (or foreground) is quite interesting, but it might work better if it were sharper, the colours were brighter, and there was a bit more contrast.

Overall, I think this is a good idea and a "gutsy" entry to the challenge. BTW, I love your picture for "From Above" ("Haft Empty or Haft Full"). Take care,

Ursula (uabresch)

I like the radiant colors. Like the grass as dominant subject. Dont like The telephone poles/wires, especially for the chosen magazine.

This is a fairly boring photo, but in some respects I guess I could see it as the front cover of a magazine titled what you have it as. it's a shame those powerlines are running through it, but that can't be helped in many parts of the world. The clouds are very nice, and I'm wondering if they would get lost in type? The photo looks slightly tilted.. but maybe thats just me.

Comment by HBunch:
That's a lot of grass leading up to those powerlines which I don't find to be particularily interesting. weather or not it has to do with the magazine, it doesn't really appeal to me. the grass is great, and the sky is perfect, just not much interest in between.

Good idea, but I think it would look even better without the telephone lines as part of the background. But, I know it can sometimes be hard to find a good shot without pesky lines getting in the way. :)
