I gave you a 4 because I felt that the sculptor did most of the work.

It's a good angle, the light is okay.
The focus isn't very sharp though, and there is nothing about this man to tell me he is a 'fallen hero', he is not familiar, not in uniform, etc.

Hmmm...Well, it's a statue and, as most statues are, it's pretty stationary. As others have already commented, your photograph doesn't really add anything to make this more than a simple document of what this statue looks like.

As far as meeting the theme of the challenge, "Fallen", the statue's standing. It may be a monument to fallen heroes, but that's far from obvious. Now, if the statue were hit by a car and had fallen over, then it would fit or if the statue were of a soldier fallen in combat. But this guy's standing, ready to stand his ground and fight.

I didn't vote in this challenge but I probably would have given this a 5. It's a great shot of a statue but there's nothing dynamic about it (kind of like mine lol). I can understand how it relates to the challenge but I don't feel any emotional pull with it. I would need something else to make it more engaging to raise the voting score above 5.

I didn't vote in this challenge, but I can see some of why it cam in where it did. The first thing that struck me was that the composition is rather plain. A different perspective may have been what it needed in that area. The coloring of the statue has a greenish tint that keeps it from standing out from the background. A different white balance could help that aspect. Just my impression of what jumped out at me on first glance, hope that helps some.

I gave a 4 on this one. Was slightly fuzzy. While a unique take on the challenge, there was no indication who this "hero" was so I made no connection to him being "fallen".

I gave you a 5. It is a competent photo of a peice of sculpture. You have chosen a good angle, and the light is pleasing, but there was little that made me want to stay and explore the photo. Whilst I could see, through your title, that there was a link to the challenge theme, to me it wasn't strong, and I suspect that may also have subconsciously swayed my vote slightly. I'm not sure that there was a high scoring photo in your subject.

My guess is that it just didn't connect with the voters pertaining to the challenge theme. Personally I think it's a nice photo, although it is a bit documentary and static (i.e. - no "Wow" factor).

I like the inclusion of some foreground leaves and the positioning of the statue in the comp. The exposure of the statue is on the mark, and I like that the processing didn't make it harsh...instead it has a ethereal glow to it.

I was one of your 4s. Primarily because I'm not a big fan of pictures of statues. To me it's more or less the same as taking a picture of a painting or another photograph - unless you bring some 'added value', the result relies on the quality of somebody else's artwork. In this case, I like the depth of field, but the background in conjunction with the main subject don't offer much contrast. A different perspective might have helped create a more interesting composition maybe?
