I think alot of the trees in Iceland were chopped in the viking era for daily energy needs (cooking/heat etc..) the shrubs and bushes are most predominant some reaching 1.5-2 meters, while there are some man-planted forests with tall trees, there still remains some natural forests in reservation areas.

whats even more amazing about this waterfall is the walking path behind the water fall where you are able to stand behind it (though i recommend wearing a raincoat ;))

The dark blue sky, and bright colors and textures of the rock create a very good contrast. It makes both the rock and sky stand out in this.
