A lovely soft-focus entry with a warm feel to it. There are two things I feel would make this shot better though. The colour of the surface the recorder is standing on doesn't complement the colour of the recorder - it would have been nice if it was a similar brown colour. The other point is that the dark/black areas don't seem dark enough to me. Making these areas darker would make the subject stand out just that little bit more.

But these are only minor issues in what is otherwise an outstanding entry. Well done!

I like the soft focus and the lighting, but I don't think you can really consider a recorder to be obsolete. It still performs its function - to make music.
