I'm not real sure what this has to do with science but I'll grade your photo.

The DOF is great however the entire image looks like a straight from the camera shot. There is no real sharpness to the image and the colors don't really pop out at me. The stick behind the bird is distracting and the image isn't straight. Rule of Thirds needs to be applied here. This is an advanced editing challenge and you should take full advantage of that.

I might've tried moving in closer and shooting in portrait orientation to better isolate the cylinders, which I presume are your main subject.
