Pure Excitementby pkotsamanesComment by pkotsamanes: I thought long and hard about the title. Since he does this for a living and I have several shots with the exact same expression I figured it wasn't actually terror. As for distance this was taken about 7ft from the rider. I actually had the camera between the fence. Thanks for all the comments. Also he didn't actually fall from this one. Message edited by author 2007-06-20 06:34:26. |

Pure Excitementby pkotsamanesComment by boyd2000: The first thing that grabs the attention is the distant mounted cowboy, but then I see the close one being bucked. It would have worked much better if you could get the closer one much more in frame. |

Pure Excitementby pkotsamanesComment by pamelasue: love that expression ... hope he didn't get hurt ... wish you'd straightened your horizon and boosted your contrast slightly |

Pure Excitementby pkotsamanesComment by dtremain: Perhaps the title should have been Pure Terror! I think a tighter crop would have made a better photo - like at the right fore leg of the canopy and just above the mountain tops. The problem with a tighter crop is that your main focus - the rider & his expression - has shadow on his face and may be a tad blurry - hard to tell. What a great capture of the moment. |

Lift and Dragby pkotsamanesComment by pkotsamanes: Yes the picture was slightly out of focus. Yes I could have done some advanced editing. And the sientific principal I was capturing was flight hence the title "lift and drag" (I could have added gravity and thrust but I thought the title might be a bit long if I did). I could have caught an actual bird in flight (i.e. use one of the other pictures I took this day) I didn't because I personally liked the action behind being out of focus.
