Arty farty photograph as well, then! Interesting how you got a star effect on the lights, but it didn't do the same to their reflection.

There is a noticeable loss of JPEG quality. Your file is on 17k, where you can use up to 200k. Watch those JPEG settings when saving your file for the challenge.

Comment by Yo_Spiff:
This is very blurred and unclear. Most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 17k indicates an extremely compressed image and that is what is robbing most of the detail and sharpness from this image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (200k for this one)

You image size is also only 640 pixels, and you could have used 720 pixels for this challenge.

This is beautiful but it makes me a little angry as it looks like someone's gobbed half my morning coffee before I had a chance to have a crack at it. That makes laurielounge sad.

I think if you had used a white cup and saucer, it would have made for a better photo by giving more contrast. As it is, the coffee beans are lost in the black plate.
