Very moving and profound shot, the B&W conversion was done expertly, this is a subject we don't often see in a photo and for that alone it deserves credit, the fact that its also a great photo means it deserves even more.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: So powerful - given the scene I feel guilty at liking it so much but tho is so sensitively made and so poignant. This is both journalistic and artistic at the same time and the longer the look at it, the longer I think about, this POV and wonder about the guts you have to take this shot....

Critical stuff: The guy on the left reminds me enough of the actor Sam Elliott to distract me.

Overall: A very special image. Excellent work.

Oddly you don't see a lot of funeral work. Sure it's not the happiest time but certainly emotionally rich photographically speaking. Love the somber B&W and each pall bearer has his/her own emotional look. The sole lady almost looks as if she is happy, with that huge bear grin. Maybe "The Mentalist" should comment :)

Great shot. I love the choice of two different angles of light trails in a single shot.
