obviously a compliment to Arcady also |
This coming from *you*, Nick, I'm very flattered. :) Henri got a 6 from me for this image, BTW.
The funniest thing is that I almost entered my own "Crossing" into this challenge, it was decided by a coin toss:

-well i'm back again as I have been thinking about this image all week, for one that I like it and another that it looks familiar. This is a HCB photograph isnt it. I am surprised that it has lasted this long in the challenge. I am not going report the image because I am interested as to the comments that you have recieved and I can imagine that it will not appeal to the masses so it will not change the ribbons.
I think I know why you have done this but not to say that I agree with it.
nick
obviously a compliment to Arcady also :)
- second thoughts I am going to report this. sorry, kinda |

Crossingby DPC-SystemComment by ericwoo: Whoa! That tree takes too much focus off your subject and he/she is a bit too centered. I do like the angle of the ground paint. It serves nicely to draw the viewer right into the main subject. That is only after we get beyond that big tree in the foreground. A different angle would have done wonders for this one. Your lighting and tonal range are both pretty strong, so you had a nice scene that fit well into the challenge. |

Crossingby DPC-SystemComment by Melethia: This works for me - I especially like the dot-dots, the creative use of the coat by the gentleman, and the scool crossing sign in the background. Has a sense of downtroddeness to it (I know, not a word) enhanced by the nasty weather conditions. |

Crossingby DPC-SystemComment by miadrago: I like the idea behind this picture and I can feel how miserable the subject must be in the rain, but the tree to the left of him is distracting. |
