This is one heckuva moonshot! Thanks for the hint on focusing, I used liveview only a couple times but want to do more. I see a bit of cyan and yellow around the edges - I'm guessing due to aberration. If so, this can easily be correct if Adobe Raw Converter, assuming you use it.

This is a fine moon shot. Be sure to keep up with the settings that you used, so that you will be ready for the next eclipse. I understand what you are talking about with the focusing when you have 800mm on and it is very dark in the viewfinder. When the moon is in mid phase like this is a good time to shoot to get the shadows to show detail and elevation in the craters near the line of demarcation.
